Shanti Massage Therapists
Our therapists’ work range from light to deep depending on the calibration of touch needed. All therapists have neuromuscular (trigger point) training and can help you with pain relief. All our medical massage therapists are licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board and have a minimum of two years’ field experience. At Shanti, all our therapists participate in our in-house training program as well as post-graduate continuing education. We encourage you to request the type of massage you prefer so we can provide you with the most appropriate therapist.
Medical Massage
Deep tissue massage: A deep tissue massage is designed to penetrate into the body’s muscular system. The amount of pressure (calibration of touch) is just enough to feel great. Advanced therapist use deep pressure as a means to gather information about the muscles and then treat them accordingly. Overall, a deep tissue massage is a very therapeutic, yet relaxing experience.

Precision Neuromuscular Massage Therapy: Precision NMT is an advanced method of soft-tissue therapy for the relief of muscular discomfort. Because this modality is muscle-specific, it allows the therapist to find the 'IT' spot as well as the source of the problem. Clients respond by stating this is the most specific type of massage they've ever experienced. All therapists at Shanti have training in neuromuscular massage and can help you with pain relief.
back to menu- Trigger Point Therapy: Trigger points are localized spots in the muscles that have become highly irritable and produce symptoms as weakness, localized and referred pain, reduced muscle length (limited range of motion), and disturb the overall function of the muscle. Your therapist can incorporate this treatment into any style of massage.

Stretching: Stretching is about increasing range of motion as well as clearing out old muscle memory and establishing a new position (resting length) for a muscle. It also lubricates the joints, improving joint mobility. To address individualized patterns of restriction, our therapist combine stretching of the muscle with motion to the joint. This approach is used in all massages at Shanti so that you move and feel better when you leave.

Swedish Massage: Swedish massage promotes general well-being through interaction with the skin, which is the body’s largest organ. Incorporating various types of strokes such as gliding and kneading, it is designed to be both soothing and relaxing with the benefits of increasing circulation, enhancing immune function and improving nourishment to the tissues.
